LIONEL PODCAST: Beware the Lunchroom Nazis & Food Police

The story is without peer. Go. Just read it. If it doesn’t make you sick. Read it first. Go ahead, I’ll wait.

Did you read it? What did you think? There must be some mistake, right? I mean, this can’t be happening in our country. It just can’t. Well, it can. And it is. And it’s getting worse. And you still do nothing. You stare. “His master’s voice.”

Lunchroom Nazis. They’re here. And please forgive me for using that dreaded term Nazi. I don’t want to go full Godwin on you, but the term is most apt. [As you recall, Godwin’s law provides that “As an online discussion grows longer, the probability of a comparison involving Nazis or Hitler approaches.”] That being said the amount of Draconian behavior is inordinate when it comes to the interruption of simple liberties. And now it’s even encroaching upon a parent’s abilities to heed her kid. And don’t give me this scheiße that it was in error.

And if you thought it was tough explaining to folks what the Fed is and the rudiments of monetary policy, just try explaining GMO’s and transgenic contamination. Good luck. There are so many theaters of war against our liberties and the latest arena is that of food. It’s a huge subject and I implore you to pay attention.

Imagine channeling Orwell now — George, you were so right about so much. But you completely missed the food Stasi. Food?! Yes, George. They even want control of our food.

  1. Congratulations Lionel, you have gone the full Glenn Beck now. One nutritional adviser offers a kid a school lunch and now the government is a food Nazi. Shame on you. This same shit is all over the right wing echo chamber. It’s nothing more than sensationalism. Wake UP!

  2. In who’s interest is it for the public to think that both major political parties are equally incompetent?

“Now many of our Christians have what I call the goo-goo syndrome — good government. They want everybody to vote. I don’t want everybody to vote. Elections are not won by a majority of people, they never have been from the beginning of our country and they are not now. As a matter of fact, our leverage in the elections quite candidly goes up as the voting populace goes down.”

Paul Weyrich, “father” of the right-wing movement and co-founder of the Heritage Foundation and the Moral Majority.

  3. Wondering why Banjopanther likes to heckle so much. Maybe he’s a retard? In whose interest is it to keep the public ignorant about the way the world actually works? Oh, I know: those who actually CONTROL the world. I don’t blame them. Ignorant people make a malleable populace.

Maintaining the “liberal v conservative” paradigm is not only provincial, it’s passé. Like buying into the theory of global warming….Al Gore’s consolation prize for losing his bid for the presidency……

  4. I certainly don’t mean to heckle anyone. Lionel is bringing up some interesting and provocative topics, and I’m just responding to them. If he wants me to shut up I will, but I don’t think he cares and that’s fine. He shouldn’t care because he’s playing us like a professional wrestler.

There are indeed disturbing similarities between the major parties, Washington is corrupt, insider trading is common, lobbyists buy more Democracy than voters… all this is true, but there are also very distinct differences. Republicans only represent corporate interests and fascist evangelical types. Democrats’ interest is with the people, building a sustainable economy, fighting for worker’s rights, women’s rights, minority rights, and consumer protection. Republicans want European-style austerity. They want to be able to teach religion in school as an “alternative” theory. They want to outlaw abortion and hand over the social security trust fund to coked up Wall Street traitors. They want to be able to rape this nation’s natural resources for short term profit and the environment be damned.

To deny these differences is another kind of delusion, because this is also how the system works.

Al Gore did not invent global warming, and the science supports it. I happen to believe in science, it’s efficacy has been proven over and over in it’s results. Oh yeah, that’s another thing Republican don’t believe in- science. This alone for me makes them ineligible to lead the nation. You want a third party, I’m all for it, give me one that can win, where is it?

  5. I rather enjoy your heckling, actually, Banjopanther. Gives me a nice distraction. The Al Gore comment was meant, in part, to be a dig on your quote: he won the popular vote, yet lost the presidency. Then he was given that sham award given to all being groomed or placated as a consolation prize. That was the second part, based on an email you sent that was posted slamming anti-global-warming. No, Gore didn’t invent the THEORY of global warming, but he was rewarded handsomely to be the poster boy. And, IMO, it might not be a bad idea to keep in mind that much of science is based on hypotheses, aka THEORIES.

Regarding the third party that can win, it doesn’t matter. Lionel is correct: once it reaches a certain level, they’re only puppets on strings, regardless.
