The gravamen of the Robinson case is straightforward: the rifle allegedly associated with Tyler Robinson has not, at least based on the evidence presented thus far, been conclusively linked to Charlie’s fatal wound. That connection is critically important. If the prosecution cannot establish that the alleged weapon inflicted the fatal injury, the defense will argue that alleged confessions, social media posts, emails and text messages carry substantially less evidentiary weight in proving the charged offense. Whether that argument ultimately prevails is for the court and, if the case proceeds to trial, the jury to decide. That is the issue deserving careful attention. Focus on it.
And one more thing: Candace Owens is not a party to this criminal prosecution. Much of the online debate has become centered on her rather than the legal issues before the court. Whatever anyone thinks of her, the central questions remain the evidence, the law and whether the prosecution can prove its case beyond a reasonable doubt.
