This case sat in the shadows for years, a series of disappearances tied together by geography, method, and silence. On April 8, 2026, that silence broke. Rex Heuermann, a 62-year-old architect from Massapequa Park, pleaded guilty to murdering eight women over a span of nearly two decades, from 1993 through 2011.
