LIONEL PODCAST: Congratulations. Now Let Gay Divorce And Broken Marriages Begin.

Now that intragender marriage is permitted in New York, just wait to see the concomitant number of divorces, broken families and the like rise precipitously. And while I certainly rejoice in New York’s moment of rationality, I implore the church-minded and Bible purists to go after what really ticks the Old Man off — shellfish.

His words are clear. Take that, Red Lobster!

Leviticus 11:9-12
King James Version (KJV)
9These shall ye eat of all that are in the waters: whatsoever hath fins and scales in the waters, in the seas, and in the rivers, them shall ye eat.

10And all that have not fins and scales in the seas, and in the rivers, of all that move in the waters, and of any living thing which is in the waters, they shall be an abomination unto you:

11They shall be even an abomination unto you; ye shall not eat of their flesh, but ye shall have their carcases in abomination.

12Whatsoever hath no fins nor scales in the waters, that shall be an abomination unto you.

LIONEL PODCAST: Same-Sex Marriage In New York. Decency Prevails At Long Last. I Hope.

Weiner’s pulled out. He’s gone flaccid. He’s impotent as a pol. Fine, sayonara, Weinie and the bad puns. Let the paronomasiacs go elsewhere. Though, I must say the resignation presser was quite comical what with Stern’s lackeys exsibilating and inquiring of the length of Weinie’s pole. Anyhoo.

New York could become the sixth state to allow gay marriage if one more brave Republican senator lends support in a possible vote Friday. The state-by-state battle over gay marriage has become a most contentious issue presaging more to follow in the presidential and congressional elections. Five states and the District of Columbia allow gay marriage and four states have civil unions. At long last, decency and equal protection may be in the offing for LGBT New Yorkers.

Marriage in the civil sense is a matter of state licensure that provides protections and obligations to two consenting adults. It has nothing to do with God, Zeus or the Bible. It’s not about morality, Sodom and/or Gomorrah or convention. It may not be traditional as inter-racial marriage wasn’t traditional until 1967 when Loving struck down anti-miscegenation laws. Listen.

LIONEL AUDIO: What Does No-Fault Divorce Mean, Anyway? And “Lean Forward”?! And Paladino May Be Right. Sorta.

New York finally adopted a No-Fault divorce system. Finally. Yet, most folks who hear of the news haven’t the foggiest idea what No-Fault means. Or Fault divorce for that matter.

But first a mention of why Carl Paladino may not be so nuts in not wanting little kids to attend certain gay rights parades. Have you ever been to one? In New York? Then the pathetically stupid “Lean Forward” MSNBC rebranding and why it’s pathetically stupid to brand with a political commitment.

LionelMedia. I’m tired of telling people what this is, so why not tell people what this is. Clever in spades I am. For the culturally nescient, LionelMedia is a multi-media content delivery system for a de minimis monthly fee. It will eventually be a multi-channeled one-stop shopping site for all things that interest me. It will feature written word, articles, blogs, vlogs, video, audio, music, performances of all types: the first annual Klezmerpalooza, hip-hop numismatics, fun with shadow puppets, name it. Wait until you hear the mime section, tentatively labeled “mime meme.” Can you see the vision? (Pun intended.) And ultimately it will showcase my farm team: up-an-coming broadcast stars of the future whom I’ll hone and train to blow the talk broadcast world open. Because, friends, as it is right now, it could use some life and originality.

Futuristic and avant-garde, you betcha. Within this audio contribution, I explain the inspiration and genesis of LionelMedia and my association with my long-time friend, the pythonic and vatic Michael Harrison, publisher of Talkers Magazine, the industry trade journal. All that I ask (or as they say in Brooklyn, “All’s”) is that you spread the word and then sign up for my podcasts. Ask yourself, “How can I help Lionel?” Well, I’ve the answer.

Gather, children, before me. I’m about to speak.
