The report may raise legitimate questions, but its framing risks doing something far more consequential. It can reinforce a political narrative before the evidence is settled. That is especially troubling in the Charlie Kirk case, where Tyler Robinson is accused of acting as the lone killer. Serious inquiry should not be discouraged merely because alternative explanations are branded “conspiracy theories.” If evidence ultimately points to additional participants, organized assistance, foreign involvement or even intelligence connections, those possibilities must be investigated rather than rhetorically buried.
Nothing in this study establishes that such alternatives are true. But neither does it justify treating skepticism about the official account as inherently irrational. Correlation is not causation. Anecdotes are not epidemiology. Ideology is not evidence of criminal responsibility.
The danger is obvious. Studies like this can become rhetorical weapons used to narrow permissible inquiry, blame the approved ideological villain, dismiss competing hypotheses and tell the public to stop looking. Evidence should decide the case. Nothing else.
